In a few short weeks, millions of Americans -- including thousands of law enforcement officers -- will converge on Washington, DC to commemorate, witness and participate in the 56th Presidential Inauguration.

To mark this quintessentially American event, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) is now accepting pre-orders for our 56th Presidential Inauguration badge. Orders will ship in January and proceeds benefit the National Law Enforcement Museum.

Law enforcement officers have always played a critical role in protecting the President. The 2009 Inauguration will be no different, as officers from many different agencies come together to provide critical support during the Inauguration ceremony, the parade and other events.

Here at the NLEOMF, we will welcome these officers and the hundreds of thousands of other visitors with a focus on educating the public about the vital role of law enforcement in our nation's history. In particular, we will highlight those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice protecting past Presidents. This occasion is a perfect opportunity to help the public better understand and appreciate the service and sacrifice of our nation's peace officers.

Due to the incredibly huge response in 2005 from the 55th Presidential Inauguration, the NLEOMF has designed and is now taking orders for our 56th Presidential Inauguration badge. These beautiful badges are collector's items and are sequentially numbered. A limited number of badges are being produced and they are sure to go quickly.
